MCP2200 je prevodník z USB na UART. Umožní Vašim aplikáciam, zvýšiť hodnotu jednoduchým pridaním USB komunikčného rozhrania pripojiteľného na UART MCU.

Čip eliminuje počet externých súčiastok potrebných k funkcii na minimum (vlastne len ext. oscilátor), keďže má integrované už aj USB ukončovacie rezistory.

MCP2200 obsahuje 256-bytový užívateľskú EEPROM. K dispozícii je 8 GPIO pinov. Štyri z nich majú alternatívnu funkciu a môžu indikovať stav USB a komunikácie.
