Atmel predstavuje novú rodinu AVR 8bit mikrokontrolérov určených na ovládanie motorov v priemyselných aplikáciách s integrovanými rozhraniami CAN a LIN. Rodinu tvoria tri mikrokontroléry ATmega16M1, ATmega32M1 a ATmega64M1 s veľkosťami programových pamätí 16/32/64 KB.

ATmega32M1 je dostupná už teraz za cenu $1.95 pri odbere 10-tisic kusov, mikrokontrolér poskytuje firma ATMEL aj ako vzorky. ATmega16M1 a ATmega64M1 si budete môcť domov "navzorkovať" už v priebehu 8 mesiaca a do predaja sa dostanú v 9 mesiaci tohto roka.
Cena za ATmega16M1 je výrobcom stanovená na $1.61 pri odbere 10-tis. kusov a cena ATmega64M1 je $2.44 pri rovnako veľkom odbere ako pri dalších dvoch mikrokontroléroch.
